- Prepare the area to be seeded or seedbed by scalping the existing dead vegetation with a mower as close to the soil surface as possible. As much dead material as possible needs to be removed. Aerating at this time is recommended when possible.
- Seed the area using the new improved varieties such as those found in The RebelsĀ® Brand products. A seeding rate of 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. is recommended. Remember to seed the areas in two perpendicular directions to ensure uniform coverage of the area regardless of the spreader that is used.
- Irrigate lightly and frequently (4 - 6 times daily) until seed germination takes place. DO NOT ALLOW THE AREA TO DRY OUT.
- A starter fertilizer should be applied to encourage seedling growth.
