To renovate my lawn what steps should I follow?

If you have successfully killed existing vegetation (see next question) and wish to overseed, the following procedures are recommended:

1. Prepare a seedbed by scalping the existing dead vegetation as close to the soil surface as possible. As much dead material as possible needs to be removed.



2. Seed the area using the new improved varieties such as those found in any of the Rebels® products. A seeding rate of at least 4 - 5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. is recommended. Remember to seed the areas in two perpendicular directions to ensure uniform coverage of the area regardless of the spreader that is used.



3. Irrigate lightly and frequently (3 times daily) until seed germination takes place. DO NOT ALLOW THE AREA TO DRY OUT.



4. A starter fertilizer should be applied to encourage seedling growth.
