How do I adjust my soil pH?

If your test determines that you have a more acidic soil (a pH of 6 or less), apply a pelletized dolomite lime at the rate of 80 pounds per 1000 square feet, or Pennington Seedâ„¢ Fast Acting Lime at a rate of 8 pounds per 1000 square feet. If your test determines you have a high alkaline soil (a pH of 7 or higher), apply granular gypsum at the rate of 50 pounds per 1,000 square feet.

NOTE: This application rate is a general guide. You should always follow the manufacturer's labeling instructions when applying any soil amendment like lime or gypsum. It is also a good idea to check with your local garden center store associates or your local County Extension Agency for products and applications that are right for your lawn and your area of the country.
